Hello there, My name is Monica! I have worked in childcare for 6 years and have loved every minute of it! Starting as a babysitter for all my younger cousins, I became quite comfortable working with and caring for children, it became almost like a second nature as the years went by!
I am now looking forward to fall 2018 at Mount Royal University for a bachelor in child studies majoring in child and youth care counselling! My experience has ranged from my start at a Montessori preschool to daycares, day homes, babysitting, youth volunteering and experience as a nanny for a year and a half!
I love children and do pick up/drop off for my younger cousins (8 and 10) every Wednesday! I’m looking for small jobs or consistent part-time work around my community to earn some income before starting my degree. I’m interested in babysitting children ages 2.5 and up with groups of 3-5 children at a time. Crafts, outdoor time, snacks, activity planning and setting appropriate boundaries are things I am comfortable doing. Creativity is always a great way to keep children busy!
I have applied for a police background check, as I usually renew it every 6 months. My first aid certificate has expired recently but I have booked a re-certification course for April, I am also certified as a level 1 childcare worker in Alberta.
